Mary Nocton is a Chartered Physiotherapist with a wealth of experience built up over 25 years.

She qualified in 1989 at Bristol School of Physiotherapy and was based in Poole Dorset for the next 15 years working for the NHS where she gained broad experience in all aspects of physio and specialised in the musculoskeletal field. She has worked solely in private practice since moving to Wiltshire in 2004.

Mary completed a post graduate certificate at Masters level in neuromusculoskeletal physiotherapy in 1999 from Southampton University, has become a member of the Society of Orthopaedic Medicine and is qualified to use Acupuncture for pain relief.

Mary enjoys treating a broad range if conditions from spinal to peripheral joint problems, from acute recent injuries to more long term chronic problems. Her approach is strongly “hands on” using a combination of treatment techniques to help your injured tissue recover more quickly. She will work with you to build a rehabilitation programme, if appropriate, that will assist in the return of full fitness.
An important part of her treatment is teaching you to manage your problem yourself and help to prevent it recurring.

Back pain and sciatica
Neck pain and whiplash injuries
Muscle and joint pain
Sports Injuries
Rehabilitation following surgery or fractures
Osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis
Overuse injuries eg. tennis elbow

Treatments she uses include:
Joint mobilisation / manipulation
Soft tissue massage / myofascial release
Electrotherapy including ultrasound
Rehabilitation / exercise programmes
Acupuncture for pain relief
Posture correction work / Pilates / core stability training
Taping / strapping
Orthotic insoles.

Mary is a member of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy ( CSP ), the Acupuncture Association of Chartered Physiotherapists ( AACP), the Organisation of Physiotherapists in Private Practice ( Physio First ) as well as being registered with the Health Care Professions Council ( HCPC ) the government regulatory authority.

You can come and see Mary without seeing a GP first. She is registered with many health insurance companies, some may require a GP referral if you are going to claim treatment costs.

Mary is available at our Pewsey Clinic on a Tuesday and Friday.
Sessions last 45 minutes for the initial consultation when she will carry out a thorough assessment, and approximately 30 minutes for subsequent treatments.
